The process of certification is by far the most expensive thing you can do when developing, because you have to satisfy the certification process, test for safety and quality and other tests that validate the crew process.

All the testing and certification goes into the shipyard at SpaceX, and you don’t do that on your own,

but you gather all the feedback needed to meet the FAA’s requirements for the next mission. Once the vessel is complete, SpaceX will then enter the GSA approval process which takes over a year. And again, this shows how far SpaceX has pushed ahead in the meantime.

Falcon 9 is a two-stage rocket which uses two different rockets. The first stage of the rocket consists of a Raptor rocket engine which is composed of 3—5 liquid ,

oxygen/sulfuric acid methane engines that cryogenic burn 24 hours a day, 4 days per week, creating large plumes of flame at the centre of the engine.

Once the Falcon 9 is ready to lift off, the second stage consists of 15 Raptor engines which will turn liquid oxygen/sulfuric acid methane into highly power.

This stage separates from the rocket and separates from the same Raptor engines that produce the propellents. The Falcon 9’s first stage uses three Raptor engines, which bring the total to 16 cores.
