This is one of the most searched and most common topic for all indian students and aspirants who aim to get a very high and respective position in indian Goverment ,Those who want to become an IAS , PCS etc go for this exam which is held all over India .
UPSC full form?
Many of you must be aware about the term UPSC. It stands for Union Public Commison . It is a commission which is appointed by the Indian government and is responsible for organizing the UPSC exam which selects top rankers among all indian students and ,
aspirants for higher position in government administration. It was started in 1922 .The staff of the departments like Indian foreign services, Indian administrative services, civil services and Indian Police services are selected through UPSC exam through pen and paper test.
What is UPSC job?
Well , I don’t think that there is even a single person who is not aware about the UPSC . In fact it is very common among the youngsters as many of them have aspirations to clear the exam and get their dream job . UPSC job is one of the highest paying jobs in India.
Along with the high income , there is power and fame as well . If you are a person from civil services , you will have respect , high position and high income .
This is what attracts the most . UPSC job refers to the various civil services or central government departments of India. In this job you can become an officer like IAS , PCS or a high position person in central government services .
Who is eligible for UPSC exam ?
The best part of this exam is that there are not so many terms and conditions . Simply you need to be an Indian citizen . If talking about the educational qualifications , you just need to have a graduation degree from any recognised College or University .
The age limit is between 21 years to 32 years . But these age limits are given relaxation according to the quota . Like OBC has age relaxation upto 35 years whereas SC/ST has an upper age limit of 37 years .
This relaxation is not only in terms of age limit but also in number of attempts. If we talk about the general category , they have 6 chances to clear the exam .
The OBC gets 9 attempts and the SC/ ST get unlimited attempts till the age of 37 years. So you have enough time and attempts to clear the exam and achieve your dream job.
Is UPSC exam difficult ?
If you’ll ask me about the exam , I would say Yes .
UPSC exam is not that easy if we compare it to other government exams like SSC , Army etc. This exam is one of the most difficult exams in India.
It has a very vast syllabus which becomes difficult for the aspirants to go through and remember . The exam is held in 3 parts . First is preliminary , the second is mains and the last is interview round. The Mains has Paper I which tests the candidate’s knowledge on current events,
history of India and Indian national movement, Indian and world geography, Indian polity panchayti Raj system and governance, economic and social development, environmental ecology, biodiversity, climate change and general science, Art and culture.
The paper II comprises of descriptive type of exam . Thus it becomes difficult to clear as there is no limit on current affairs and history . You have to get deep and detailed knowledge about each and every topic.
How many hours to study?
In my opinion there should be a proper time table if you want to clear this exam . I won’t say that you have to study for 18 hrs in a day but at least 6-8 hours you have to dedicate to study . But whatever you study , you should study it by heart and very deeply .
It is very important to understand each and every topic in detail .Even you should not neglect any minor points or small points about the particular topic .
Those who really work hard and sacrifice all other entertainment are able to achieve their goal. You need to stay away from your phones . It is not so difficult to clear the exam if you dedicate just a year for the preparation .
Highest posts in UPSC
Guys, if we talk about the highest paid jobs and designation in UPSC , then there is a good long list . It depends on the department you’ll be going .
I can tell you some of the high posts which are IAS officer , cabinet secretary , foreign secretary of India , Director general of police ( DGP) etc . These are the top most positions you can get once you clear the exam.
So friends, if you are preparing for the UPSC exam, then my wishes are with you . There is just a need of little more effort and pure dedicated to the studies. I am sure each of you will be able to achieve your dream job in UPSC .
